Cashier/Customer Service Representative
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Stocker to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient organization, handling, and movement of inventory within our distribution center. Responsibilities
- Efficiently pick, load, and unload products using various materials handling equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners.
- Operate heavy machinery safely and in accordance with OSHA safety protocols to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Manage inventory levels accurately through the use of warehouse management systems (WMS) and manual tracking methods.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring proper documentation, and maintaining records.
- Conduct manual handling tasks including heavy lifting, stacking pallets, and organizing stock in designated areas for optimal accessibility.
- Support order picking activities by accurately selecting items based on order specifications using basic math skills for quantity verification.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace by adhering to safety procedures and participating in regular safety audits and training sessions.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, or materials handling within a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and crane operations.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management practices and warehouse operations procedures.
- Ability to operate RF scanners efficiently for accurate order picking and shipping/receiving tasks.
- Mechanical aptitude with basic understanding of heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Good physical condition with the ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling regularly.
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities during stock movements.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software is preferred.
- Construction or logistics experience is a plus for understanding complex material handling scenarios.
