Forward Deployed Engineer – Enterprise AI Infrastructure Full-time | On-site | San Francisco, CACompensation: $220,000–$320,000 total compensation ($150,000–$300,000 base salary + competitive equity)Visa Sponsorship: Available About the RoleWe are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer with 3–6 years of experience to sit at the intersection of deep engineering and customer impact, owning the technical deployment of an AI-powered document platform for sophisticated enterprise customers. This is a founding Forward Deployed Engineer role at a fast-growing, Series B AI infrastructure company with approximately 75 employees that has raised more than $100 million in funding. The company processes tens of millions of document pages each month and is experiencing rapid year-over-year growth. You'll help shape what this function looks like from the ground up while working directly with customers and internal engineering teams. What You'll Do<ul><li>Partner with Account Executives and Solutions Engineers during pre-sales to run technical evaluations, build custom demo applications, and support competitive evaluations.</li><li>Own post-sales technical success for 1–3 enterprise customers by meeting regularly with customers, resolving technical challenges, increasing product adoption, and identifying expansion opportunities.</li><li>Build whatever is needed to drive customer success, including:</li><li>Evaluation harnesses</li><li>Prototype applications</li><li>Diagnostic dashboards</li><li>Custom API integrations</li><li>Embed with enterprise engineering teams to deploy new AI document solutions for customers who need hands-on technical support.</li><li>Share customer feedback with Product and Engineering teams to influence future product direction. </li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>3–6 years of experience in full-stack (backend-leaning) or product engineering, including Software Engineering or Forward Deployed Engineering experience.</li><li>Strong Python skills with the ability to independently build and ship production-quality software.</li><li>Experience working with AI/LLM technologies and modern AI coding tools.</li><li>Experience building production software at a high-growth startup serving enterprise customers.</li><li>Comfortable participating in technical conversations with enterprise customers.</li><li>Stable work history without repeated short job tenures. </li></ul>Preferred Technical ExperienceExperience with some or all of the following:<ul><li>Python</li><li>Bash</li><li>Streamlit</li><li>OCR</li><li>Large Language Models (LLMs)</li><li>Vision-Language Models</li><li>REST APIs</li><li>Document Parsing</li><li>AI/ML Tooling</li><li>Evaluation Frameworks </li></ul>About the CompanyMost enterprise data exists in documents such as PDFs and spreadsheets, including financial records, medical documents, contracts, and other complex files.
