Senior Supply Chain Coordinator
About the position
ConocoPhillips is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Coordinator to join their Lower 48 segment. This role is crucial for developing and executing sourcing and contracting strategies to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations, particularly supporting Wells (Drilling and Completions). The position involves acting as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders, translating operational needs into effective sourcing plans and contracts, and balancing cost, quality, schedule, and supplier performance. The position can be located in Midland or Houston, TX.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary supply chain liaison for assigned categories, providing responsive and practical solutions that support business priorities.
- Lead the development of sourcing strategies and execution plans aligned with operational goals, market conditions, and project timelines.
- Analyze category and market dynamics to determine the most effective sourcing approach, balancing cost, risk, and supplier capability.
- Develop and manage work plans and key milestone schedules to support timely execution of sourcing and contracting activities.
- Align supply chain plans with business needs to ensure materials and services are available when required.
- Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities, utilizing market intelligence to enhance efficiency, supplier performance, and cost outcomes.
- Develop bid packages and negotiation strategies; lead competitive sourcing events (e.g., Requests for Proposal) to obtain commercial offerings that meet business requirements, including support for urgent or unplanned needs.
- Negotiate and manage contract terms and conditions using standard agreement structures (e.g., Master Service Agreements, Call-Off Orders, Price Books, Purchase Orders).
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support performance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate Field Improvement Team (FIT) discussions and collaborate with suppliers to ensure systems like Requisition-to-Pay (R2P) function effectively.
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- 7 or more years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, procurement, or a closely related function with direct exposure to sourcing or supplier engagement, including through engineering or cross-functional roles.
- Intermediate level experience conducting Requests for Proposal (RFPs), sourcing evaluations, and post-award contract management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or a related technical discipline.
- 10 or more years of supply chain management experience supporting upstream oil and gas operations.
- Working knowledge of procurement systems such as GEP.
- Experience performing technical and commercial evaluations to support sourcing decisions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and execute plans effectively.
- Ability to understand business needs and translate them into supply chain actions and outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
